Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a registered nurse to join a fast-paced General Surgery/Trauma Step-Down Unit in the United States. The role emphasizes high-quality, compassionate care, clinical judgment, and autonomous practice within a collaborative team.

The nurse will engage in governance activities, follow evidence-based practices, and ensure accurate EHR documentation. A 6–8 week orientation supports professional growth and skill development in a dynamic setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license in the state(s) where practice is located.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement and evaluate patient care.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, and collaborates with the care team.
