Job summary

United Health Services is seeking a Trauma Registrar to ensure high-quality data from the trauma program and accurate entry into the trauma registry. You will coordinate daily data collection, verify completeness before submission to NYS DOH and the NTDB, and support verification by the American College of Surgeons.

You will work with the Trauma Program Manager, maintain confidentiality, and contribute to staying designated as a trauma center.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Health Information Management, Nursing, or another allied health field.
• Must complete ATS or similar trauma-specific registrar class within 12 months of hire.
• Must complete AIS 15 coding course within 12 months of hire.
• Must have completed a trauma-specific ICD-10 course in the last 5 years or within 12 months of hire.
• Preferred: Certified Specialist in Trauma Registry.
• Preferred: Certified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high-quality data entry for the trauma registry.
• Coordinate day-to-day data collection and verify data completeness prior to submission.
• Submit data to NYS DOH and the NTDB and support verification by the ACS.
• Collaborate with the Trauma Program Manager to meet regulatory and center designation requirements.
