Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a Trauma Registrar to contribute to the hospital's ACS Level I verification by ensuring accurate and timely data collection in the TraumaOne database for admitted trauma patients. You will enter injury data, assign ICD-10/AAAM codes, maintain documentation standards, and collaborate with the Trauma Program Manager to support performance improvement and site visits.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; associate/bachelor preferred.
• Completion of Trauma Registrar course within 9 months of hire.
• AIS scoring certification within 1 year.
• CCA or CCS certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Primary role is to collect, abstract and enter clinical data of admitted trauma patients into the TraumaOne database.
• Assign diagnosis and procedural codes (ICD-10 and AAAM) to injuries.
• Ensure data accuracy and meet 80% case completion within 60 days of discharge.
• Maintain data validation with 95% or better accuracy.
• Collaborate with the Trauma Program Manager to maximize abstracting efficiency and address gaps in documentation.
• Prepare for ACS site visit and support the Trauma division goals.
• Follow institutional policies and engage in ongoing professional development.
