Job summary

American Trauma Society Inc. seeks a Trauma Registry Supervisor to lead the Trauma Registry Analyst team. You will oversee data collection, abstraction, coding (ICD-10 and AIS), analysis, and reporting for trauma records across designated centers.

The role supports Level I designation processes and NTDB/TQIP submissions, requiring collaboration with hospital staff, HIM, EMS and registries. Hybrid work model offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field.
• Completion of an approved eight-hour Trauma Registry course.
• Current training in the most recent AAAM AIS course.
• Current ICD-10 course or refresher completed within five years.
• CSTR certification through ATS within one year.
• CAISS certification through AAAM within 18 months.
• RHIT preferred upon hire.
• Minimum of three years experience in trauma database coding/abstraction.

Responsibilities

• Direct and perform all functions related to maintaining the trauma registry database.
• Review records for IRR audits and ensure accurate abstraction.
• Maintain data accuracy through validation and backups.
• Protect patient confidentiality per HIPAA policies.
• Ensure compliance with state and NTDB reporting standards.
• Coordinate during designation/verification visits and PRQ prep.
