Job summary

Community Health Systems seeks a Trauma Registrar to collect, enter, and maintain trauma patient data in the registry, ensuring accuracy and completeness to support quality improvement, performance monitoring, research, and compliance with reporting standards.

The registrar collaborates with trauma leadership, clinical teams, and regulatory bodies to support program goals and accreditation readiness, and to produce timely reports for internal leadership and external databases.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting including patient registration, medical office scheduling, or front desk/admissions.
• 0-2 years of experience in customer service required
• 1-2 years of experience with trauma registry databases (e.g., NTDB, TRACS) preferred

Responsibilities

• Identifies eligible trauma patients for inclusion in the trauma registry based on established criteria.
• Enters and maintains detailed trauma data in the trauma registry system.
• Reviews medical records and provider documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Performs regular audits and validation of trauma registry data for integrity and compliance.
• Generates reports for trauma program leadership, regulatory agencies, and national databases.
• Supports performance improvement by compiling data for QA and benchmarking.
• Tracks trauma outcomes for internal and external reporting.
• Assists with preparations for trauma center re-verification and data submission.
