Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital seeks a Trauma Quality Improvement Coordinator to support the trauma program's performance improvement and patient safety initiatives. You will review cases, track quality metrics, and collaborate with surgeons, nurses, registrars, and quality teams to drive improvements.

The role requires a BSN and VA/Compact RN licensure with 3+ years in ED/ICU, preferably trauma-related. The position is on-site with one day from home after training, and offers comprehensive

Qualifications

• RN licensure with VA/Compact requirements.
• Experience in quality improvement, patient safety, or trauma registry preferred.
• Familiarity with ACS trauma verification standards and PIPS processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the trauma program's Performance Improvement and Patient Safety (PIPS) activities.
• Identify cases for review using audit filters, registry data, complications, and mortality reviews.
• Facilitate timely case reviews with trauma leadership and multidisciplinary teams.
• Track quality issues, OFIs, and corrective actions; ensure loop closure.
• Maintain documentation for ACS trauma center verification and site visits.
• Prepare reports and dashboards highlighting key trauma quality metrics.
