Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a Trauma Quality Improvement Coordinator to support the trauma program’s performance improvement and patient safety processes on-site at Sentara Norfolk General, with potential after training for one day per week remote work.

The role collaborates with trauma surgeons, nursing leadership, registrars, and quality teams to identify opportunities for improvement and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of clinical ED or ICU experience.
• Prefer trauma-related background.
• Proficient with quality improvement concepts.
• Experience with trauma registry and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the Trauma PI and Patient Safety program.
• Identify cases for review using audit data and registry.
• Facilitate timely case reviews with multidisciplinary teams.
• Track quality issues and corrective actions.
• Ensure loop closure and documentation for ACS standards.
• Prepare data for TQIP/state registry submissions.
• Develop reports and dashboards on trauma quality metrics.
• Educate trauma staff on quality improvement findings.
