Job summary

Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona, seeks a Certified Patient Care Assistant to join the PCU trauma unit. This full-time position supports routine patient care in a high-acuity 36-bed unit, with day and night shifts and weekend rotations.

The role includes essential nursing support, data collection, and patient record maintenance. The ideal candidate holds a CNA with current BLS, strong organization, and communication skills; experience in a hospital setting is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification required.
• Current CNA/LNA in state of practice required for new hires and transfers.
• Requires 1 year of medical clerical experience; preferably in hospital or physician office setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and promote patient health.
• Collect vital signs, input/output, and other delegated measurements.
• Communicate patient status to licensed professionals to ensure continuity of care.
• Perform procedures delegated by licensed professionals, including basic EKGs and related tasks.
• Handle receptionist/clerical duties to support department efficiency and communications.
• Maintain complete patient records with admission, transfer, and discharge information and progress notes.
• Manage supplies and equipment, ensuring they are stocked and functional.
• Assist with transporting patients and OR room turnover as needed.
• Work under supervision with a focus on patient care and customer service.
