Job summary

Banner Health Network seeks a Certified Patient Care Assistant for the PCU Trauma Unit at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, AZ. This 36-bed high-acuity unit requires caring for trauma patients within a Level 1 hospital setting.

FT/PT Day/Night shifts, some weekends/holidays, with weekend and night differentials. Responsibilities include routine patient care, data collection, and coordination with the care team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Current CNA in state of practice is required for new hires.
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card may be required.
• 1 year of medical clerical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine patient care to promote comfort and care planning.
• Collect vital signs, input/output, and other data; document in medical records.
• Communicate patient status clearly to the care team.
• Assist with procedures and use equipment under supervision.
• Support unit operations and reception/clerical duties as needed.
• Maintain patient records and supplies, and assist with orders and charting.
• Monitor equipment and ensure accessibility of education materials.
• Assist with transport of patients to operating rooms or post-operative units.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on customer service and teamwork.
