Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Certified Patient Care Assistant (CNA) to join the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in Glendale, AZ. You will provide routine patient care, monitor vital signs, assist with daily activities, and support a high-acuity cardiovascular/nursing team.

The position offers full-time day shifts (3-12 hour shifts, 6:00am–6:30pm) with weekend/holiday rotations and a $3,000 sign-on bonus for eligible new hires.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CNA certification and BLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of medical clerical or hospital/customer service experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational, human relations, and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance in activities of daily living and promotes patient health.
• Collects patient data including vital signs and documentation in medical records.
• Reports abnormalities and communicates status to the care team.
• Performs procedures and uses equipment under supervision of licensed staff.
• Fulfills receptionist/clerical duties to support department operations.
• Maintains complete patient records and ensures charting forms are accessible.
• May transport patients and participate in OR room turnover.
• Works under supervision in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
