Job summary

Family Service of Rhode Island seeks a part-time Relief staff member to guide adolescents in school and residential settings in Exeter, RI. You will implement Trauma Systems Therapy and maintain a trauma‑informed environment.

Responsibilities include supervising daily activities, coordinating with staff, and ensuring safety and well-being while promoting positive decisions and learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work-related field or significant residential experience.
• ABA certification preferred but not required; willingness to obtain.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Knowledge of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic issues; ability to implement child management techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, hands-on support to youth in school and residential settings.
• Be a positive role model and encourage youth participation in activities.
• Participate in trauma-informed care via TST and other evidence-based practices.
• Coordinate with teachers, clinicians and staff to maintain consistent approaches.
