Job summary

Family Service of RI (FSRI) is seeking a dedicated youth services professional to support adolescents in a school and residential setting in Exeter, RI. You will implement Trauma Systems Therapy, promote safety and well-being, and help students develop life skills and positive decision making.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or significant therapeutic recreation experience, flexible hours, and strong communication within a team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in recreational therapy or related field.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic contexts.
• Capability to implement child management techniques as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, hands-on support to youth in school and residential settings.
• Model positive behavior and engage students in activities.
• Participate in Trauma Systems Therapy (TST) and related training.
• Collaborate with teachers, clinicians and staff to maintain trauma-informed practices.
• Drive to transport students and assist with documentation and reporting.
