Job summary

New Hope Treatment Centers seeks a Behavior Support Coach to work in a high-acuity residential program for justice-involved youth. You will provide therapeutic supervision, crisis intervention, behavioral coaching, and milieu management under the treatment team guidance.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed care, accountability with dignity, and collaboration with therapists, nurses, and DJJ staff to stabilize youth and support transitions. Requires high school diploma and relevant experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year experience with adolescents in juvenile justice, behavioral health, residential treatment, crisis services, or psychiatric settings preferred.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care, adolescent development, crisis intervention, and behavior management.
• Current CPR/First Aid and Handle With Care or equivalent certification preferred or obtainable on hire.

Responsibilities

• Build therapeutic relationships with youth through engagement, active listening, mentoring, and professional role modeling.
• Implement individualized behavior support plans and reinforce interventions.
• Teach emotional regulation, problem-solving, communication, and healthy decision-making skills.
• Provide immediate behavioral coaching post-incident to process events and practice coping strategies.
• Utilize evidence-based behavior management techniques including positive reinforcement and restorative approaches.
• Maintain a safe, structured living environment and ensure youth safety and well-being.
• Document progress, behaviors, safety checks, and incident reports in required systems.
