Job summary

The Shelter for Abused Women and Children in Immokalee seeks an in-person Human Trafficking Victims Support Advocate. This role provides trauma-informed counseling, intensive case management, and advocacy for survivors within a long-term therapeutic program.

You will collaborate with leadership to develop policies, conduct intakes, and support clients through the criminal justice process, ensuring access to resources and legal assistance. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent in relevant fields.
• Experience in acute care or trauma-informed settings preferred.
• First Aid and CPR certification upon hire; Core Competency training.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for victims at any stage of the criminal justice process.
• Provide post-sentencing services and support.
• Assist survivors with victim certification and records.
• Develop and maintain long-term trauma-informed programs.
• Conduct intakes and document program outcomes.
• Provide legal advocacy, restraining orders, and court support.
• Deliver individual counseling and crisis intervention.
• Offer intensive case management and referrals.
• Respond to inquiries within 24 hours.
• Teach life skills such as cooking and self-care.
