VOA Illinois is seeking a compassionate Therapist to provide behavioral health support and programming for community members in Elgin, IL. This full-time, exempt position uses a trauma-informed approach to help clients build trust and emotional well-being through in-person and virtual services.

You will assess needs, maintain documentation, and collaborate with supervisors to ensure quality care. A Master's degree in social work or related field is required, with LPC/LSW preferred and bilingual

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work, counseling, clinical psychology, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed behavioral health support to clients.
• Build trusting relationships that encourage engagement, openness, and emotional growth.
• Assess client needs, monitor progress, and share updates with supervisors.
• Use active listening, therapeutic communication, and de-escalation strategies when supporting clients.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic record systems.
