Job summary

Northwestern Settlement in Chicago, IL is seeking a School Embedded Therapist to deliver trauma-informed, strength-based therapy to school-aged children and families. Services may be provided at the agency and via telehealth as needed to support individualized treatment goals.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Social Work or a closely related field, with preferred Illinois licensure (LCPC/LCSW/LMFT) and experience with evidence-based approaches.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or closely related field.
• Illinois clinical license (LCPC/LCSW, LMFT) preferred.
• Experience with trauma-informed treatment modalities (e.g., Theraplay, ARC framework).
• Must be able to communicate in English and Spanish, verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic treatment to a caseload of school-aged children and their families using trauma-informed, strength-based interventions.
• Coordinate services with other providers and develop referral plans.
• Complete documentation including assessments and service notes using web-based client platforms.
