Job summary

Youth Guidance in Chicago is seeking a School Based Counselor to provide individual, group, and family counseling within school communities. You will work with school administration and behavioral health teams to coordinate services and crisis intervention when needed.

The role requires a Master’s degree in social work and licensure (LSW/LCSW/LMFT/LCPC/LPC) with experience in youth development and trauma-informed care; bilingual English/Spanish is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work or related field.
• Experience with youth engagement and trauma-informed services.
• Experience in schools or youth systems is preferred.
• Licensure as LSW, LCSW, LMFT, LCPC, or LPC.

Responsibilities

• Develops counseling interventions and programs in the school community.
• Provides clinical assessments for each client.
• Provides individual counseling in a school setting.
• Provides family and crisis intervention as needed.
• Participates in teacher training and school in-service presentations.
• Completes weekly documentation and administrative tasks.
• collaborates with school teams and behavioral health staff.
