Job summary

Institute for Nonviolence Chicago seeks a Bilingual Behavioral Health Specialist to deliver staff wellness programming and behavioral health services to at-risk individuals and families. The role focuses on Back of the Yards with Spanish-speaking communities and collaborates with courts and community partners.

The position emphasizes trauma-informed care, culturally responsive practice, and cross-program collaboration to expand behavioral health capacity and staff well-being.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in psychology or social work required; licensure preferred (LCSW/LCPC/LMFT).
• Fluency in Spanish (spoken and written) required.
• At least 2 years of trauma-informed direct behavioral health services.
• At least 2 years of community-based services to youth and adults in violence-impacted communities.

Responsibilities

• Complete behavioral health intakes, assessments, and individual therapy sessions with progress notes.
• Provide emotional support to staff during shooting responses as needed.
• Develop trauma-informed policies and services for participants.
• Facilitate groups and trainings for staff and partners.
• Coach non-clinical staff in CBI and wellness interventions.
