Job summary

Life Without Barriers is seeking a Therapeutic Specialist in Orange on a 12-month maximum term, full-time basis with hybrid working arrangements. The role focuses on trauma-informed care planning, assessments and behaviour support for children in care, with supervision and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities include psychosocial assessments, behaviour support plan development, placement matching, and care reviews.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Mental Health Nursing.
• Current registration or eligibility with the relevant professional body.
• Experience using evidence‑based assessment tools with young people with trauma‑informed behaviour.
• Ability to develop and promote positive person‑centred behaviour supports.
• Current Driver’s Licence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychosocial assessments and contribute to therapeutic formulations.
• Develop and review behaviour support plans.
• Support placement matching and transitions.
• Participate in care team meetings and case reviews.
• Provide written reports and clinical recommendations.
• Offer consultation, coaching and guidance to carers and staff.
