Job summary

KEYS Academy, supported by Health Connect America, is a Virginia network of Private Special Education Day schools serving K–12. Guided by Safety, Dignity, and Opportunity, we provide structured, trauma-informed classrooms to foster academic and social-emotional growth.

As a KEYS Academy Teacher, you will design instruction aligned to each student’s IEP goals, integrate the KEYS for a Big Life Curriculum and Social Thinking, and collaborate with families and staff under the School Director’s

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education required.
• Active Virginia teaching license in Special Education.
• Endorsement in Emotional Disabilities (ED) or willingness to obtain SPED endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Develop lesson plans aligned to SOLs and individual IEP goals.
• Differentiate instruction to meet varied needs and support emotional regulation.
• Establish Present Levels of Performance and base data for students.
• Serve as case manager for assigned students and participate in IEP meetings.
• Collaborate with families and related services to support student success.
