Job summary

Wedgwood Christian Services in Grand Rapids, MI, operates Boelkins Program for youth ages 10-16 and seeks a Shift Supervisor to lead a residential treatment team and ensure high-quality care on each shift.

You will mentor staff, coordinate coverage, supervise documentation, and support trauma-informed practices within a 2nd shift focused schedule. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits accompany this role.

Qualifications

• At least 20 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and safely perform physical interventions when necessary.
• Ability to bend, twist, and support movement in a residential setting.
• Alignment with Wedgwood's Statement of Faith, vision, and values.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to direct care staff during assigned shifts.
• Coordinate staff assignments to ensure coverage and effective treatment.
• Ensure completion of shift responsibilities including documentation and medication administration.
• Support and guide staff in implementing individualized treatment plans.
• Provide real-time coaching, feedback, and mentorship to promote staff development.
• Onboard and train new staff as assigned.
• Create a safe, therapeutic environment grounded in the Sanctuary Model.
• Build mentoring relationships with youth using trauma-informed approaches.
• Utilize de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques to support behavior regulation.
• Model healthy communication and daily living skills for youth.
