Job summary

Wedgwood Christian Services in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Shift Supervisor for a residential behavioral health program serving boys ages 12–17. The role leads a trauma-informed treatment team, guides daily operations, and ensures high-quality care on each shift.

The position offers 4 weekdays (mostly 2nd shift) with every other weekend, a pay range of $21–$23/hour, and a comprehensive benefits package including PTO and holiday pay.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 20 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical interventions safely.
• Residential setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to direct care staff during assigned shifts.
• Coordinate staff assignments to ensure coverage and effective treatment.
• Ensure completion of shift responsibilities including documentation and medication administration.
• Support and guide staff in implementing individualized treatment plans.
• Provide real-time coaching and mentorship to promote staff development.
• Onboard and train new staff as assigned.
• Create a safe, therapeutic environment grounded in the Sanctuary Model.
• Build mentoring relationships with youth using trauma-informed approaches.
• Utilize de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques.
• Administer medications as assigned and support health routines.
• Transport residents to appointments and activities as needed.
