Job summary

Archdiocese of San Antonio is seeking a Domestic Shelter Supervisor to assist the Shelter Program Director in directing overall shelter operations with a focus on trauma-informed services for residents and their children.

The role requires maintaining adequate staffing to meet the physical, social, emotional, educational and recreational needs, while guiding direct care staff and upholding licensing standards. A strong emphasis on supervision, safety and program compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in social sciences or related field.
• Experience supervising staff and coordinating team routines.
• Experience with trauma-informed practices and youth services.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise direct care staff, team leaders and weekend supervisor.
• Communicate expectations related to trauma-informed care and program goals.
• Schedule staffing to meet licensing requirements and ensure client safety.
• Maintain documentation per licensing, funding, and agency standards.
• Provide reflective supervision to staff and monitor trauma informed practice implementation.
• Ensure on-floor observations and coaching for RCYCP and TBRI competencies.
• Generate hiring requisitions and ensure adequate staffing ratios.
• Oversee staff training and compliance with regulatory requirements.
