Job summary

Hope and Healing Survivor Resource Center in Medina, OH, is seeking a Domestic Violence Shelter Crisis Intervention Specialist to provide trauma-informed support to survivors living in the shelter and to deliver crisis intervention, advocacy, hotline responses, and referrals.

You will assist with shelter operations, safety planning, and daily survivor engagement while documenting activities according to policy. This role requires reliability, empathy, and teamwork in a sensitive environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; CPR, First Aid, AED, and Narcan certifications preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience with survivors of trauma, mental health, or addiction preferred.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license and insurability; ability to pass background checks (OBI and FBI)

Responsibilities

• Provide confidential, trauma-informed support to survivors, including crisis intervention, advocacy, hotline responses, shelter intakes, referrals, safety planning, and follow-up care.
• Assist with shelter operations, including shelter coverage, safety, transportation, conflict resolution, cleaning/food prep, workshops for survivors on self-sufficiency, and daily survivor engagement.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation in accordance with agency policy.
• Collaborate with agencies to secure services for survivors and support case managers and H&H staff in individualized survivor plans.
• Participate in professional development and community representation.
• Adhere to Service Excellence standards and agency policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
