Job summary

Hope and Healing Survivor Resource Center in Medina, OH is seeking a Domestic Violence Shelter Crisis Intervention Specialist to provide trauma-informed crisis intervention and individualized support to survivors residing in the shelter. You will coordinate resources, safety planning, hotline responses and follow-up care in a respectful, confidential environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; CPR, First Aid, AED, and Narcan certifications preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience with survivors of trauma, mental health, or addiction preferred.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license and insurability; ability to pass background checks (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations and FBI)

Responsibilities

• Provide confidential, trauma-informed support to survivors, including crisis intervention, advocacy, hotline responses, shelter intakes, referrals, safety planning, and follow-up care.
• Assist with shelter operations, including shelter coverage, safety, transportation, conflict resolution, cleaning/food prep, workshops for survivors on self-sufficiency, and daily survivor engagement.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation in accordance with agency policy.
• Collaborate with agencies to secure services for survivors and support case managers and H&H staff in individualized survivor plans.
• Participate in professional development and community representation.
• Always adheres to Service Excellence standards.
• Complies with agency policies and procedures, federal and state requirements, CARF standards and educational/certification/registry requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
