Qualifications

  • Experience working with homeless populations or shelters preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 60 days.
  • Knowledge of homelessness issues and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Provides basic needs assistance to shelter guests.
  • Remain punctual, trustworthy and professional.
  • Greet guests in a friendly, courteous manner.
  • Maintain professionalism under pressure and make responsible decisions.
  • Show patience, creativity, flexibility, and compassion.
  • Be sensitive to diverse populations and differences.
  • Explain program requirements to new guests.
  • Coordinate bed assignments, breaks, and daily routines.
  • Monitor facility activities to ensure smooth service delivery and safety.
  • Communicate effectively in a trauma-informed manner.
  • Complete data entry, incident reports, daily log, and other paperwork.
  • Adhere to schedule and shift adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain professional behavior and document shift communications thoroughly.
  • Complete HMIS training within 30 days.

Education

Bachelor's degree preferred
High school diploma or equivalent required
