Job summary

VOA Northern California & Northern Nevada seeks a Part-time Community Care Associate at the Truckee Navigation Center. The role focuses on providing trauma-informed care, maintaining a safe and welcoming space, and supporting participants toward housing stability.

You will work closely with Whole Person Care Coordinators, handle daily operational duties, and help coordinate meals, safety, and service access within a 16-bed shelter environment.

Qualifications

• Teamwork and collaboration with staff across shifts and programs.
• Ability to de-escalate crises and assist participants and staff in emergencies.
• Strong oral and written communication skills for participant interactions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the heartbeat of the navigation center at intake and during crises.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming environment with dignity and structure.
• Collaborate with Whole Person Care Coordinators and leadership to support participants.
• Perform daily tasks to support program operations and safety.
