Job summary

Volunteers of America Northern California & Northern Nevada, Inc. is hiring a Lead Community Care Associate for the Truckee Navigation Center.

This full-time role covers day and swing shifts, starting early Saturday and Sunday-Wednesday, with a focus on crisis support, housing navigation, and client engagement. You will supervise frontline staff, ensure program standards, coordinate operations, and collaborate with Whole Person Care Coordinators to help participants move toward stable housing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human services, sociology, or related field is highly desired or two (2) years of experience with the homeless population and lead/peer mentoring preferred.
• Working knowledge of evidence-based practices in ending homelessness is required.
• CAC/CADC or experience in alcohol/drug recovery programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead shift by guiding Community Care Associates and ensuring program standards.
• Coordinate shift activities, safety protocols, and documentation.
• Support onboarding and provide coaching on trauma-informed approaches.
• Assist Whole Person Care Coordinator with participant engagement and service coordination.
• Maintain participant files and program data systems.
• Ensure safety, security, and daily operations of the navigation center.
