Volunteers of America Northern California and Northern Nevada is seeking a part-time Community Care Associate at the Truckee Navigation Center. The role focuses on maintaining a dignified, safe, and supportive environment for program participants, with duties spanning crisis de-escalation, daily operations, and collaboration with care teams.

The position requires CPR/First Aid within 90 days, trauma-informed service delivery, and a commitment to empowering participants toward housing stability.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate and comprehend oral and written instructions while serving difficult participants.
• CPR and First Aid certification within 90 days of employment and annual TB testing.
• Experience using trauma-informed, strength-based approaches in housing or homeless services is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Assist in daily program operations to meet established objectives.
• Engage participants with trauma-informed, compassionate and professional approaches.
• Explain program rules and ensure participant compliance.
• Coordinate meals, room assignments and daily routines.
• Maintain safety, security, and clean, welcoming spaces.
• Provide emergency assistance within CPR/First Aid scope when needed.
• Document incidents and notify management of concerns.
