Job summary

ACTS in Dumfries, VA seeks a Safe-house Supervisor to oversee the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services shelters. The role provides trauma‑informed operations, trains staff, and ensures clients receive all necessary services while maintaining safety and compliance.

You will manage scheduling, on‑call coverage 24/7, and coordinate with responders, volunteers, and partners. A Bachelor’s degree and three years of supervisory experience are preferred; bilingual capability is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or related field.
• Three years of management or supervisory experience.
• Experience with domestic violence and shelter operations.
• Bilingual capability preferred (English and Spanish, French or Arabic).

Responsibilities

• Ensure 24/7 on-call coverage for shelter operations.
• Recruit, interview, hire, and train staff; oversee department workflow.
• Provide staff supervision and performance evaluations.
• Coordinate shelter safety, policies, and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain client records and reporting; manage data entry and monthly/ grant reports.
