Job summary

ACTS in Dumfries, VA seeks a Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Advocate & Community Educator to provide advanced advocacy, crisis intervention, and client support across services. The role includes intake, hotline responses, court accompaniment, and maintaining records, with opportunities to mentor staff and expand community partnerships.

The position requires 3–5 years of relevant experience, a bachelor’s degree, and may include bilingual bonuses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, social work or related field required.
• Master’s degree preferred; 40-hour annual training required after hire.
• Minimum 3–5 years experience with survivors of domestic violence or sexual assault.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced advocacy and crisis intervention services to survivors and families.
• Lead advocacy within the program; mentor staff and volunteers.
• Coordinate with law enforcement, healthcare, schools, and mental health professionals.
