Zusammenfassung

Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community Healing Center is seeking a Residential Aide for full-time night shifts (9pm–7:30am) to support adults in a residential treatment setting. You will ensure safety, assist with daily routines, transport clients, and document observations in collaboration with clinical and cultural staff.

Responsibilities include supervising activities, administering screenings and medications, and helping maintain a trauma-informed, Dakota-culture respectful environment.

Qualifikationen

• Experience in residential, behavioral health, or similar human services setting preferred.
• Ability to maintain healthy professional boundaries and respond calmly to crises.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Respect for and interest in Dakota culture, language, and healing practices.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
• Must maintain client confidentiality in HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to work evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
• Subject to drug/alcohol testing per DOT regulations and SMSC policy.

Aufgaben

• Monitor and support residents, ensuring physical and emotional safety at all times.
• Provide supervision during routines, meals, groups, and offsite programming as needed.
• Assist with room checks, head counts, wellness checks, and document client behaviors or incidents.
• Orient new admissions to the facility and assist with belongings and room setup.
• Observe and report client progress and safety concerns to clinical staff.
• Transport clients to appointments or programming as assigned.
• Administer drug/alcohol screening tests and medications per protocol.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in living spaces and assist with daily chores.
• Assist with conflict de-escalation and reinforce treatment goals with empathy.
• Participate in shift handoffs and document shift notes.
• Support trauma-informed, culturally respectful environment and ceremonies.
