Job summary

The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC) Healing Center seeks a Residential Aide to provide direct, supportive care for adult clients in a residential treatment setting. You will assist with daily routines, admissions, documentation, and transportation while upholding a trauma-informed, culturally respectful environment.

Responsibilities include supervising activities, coordinating with clinical and cultural staff, and ensuring client safety and well-being in a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Experience in residential, behavioral health, or similar human services setting preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Respect for Dakota culture, language, and healing practices.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and support residents to ensure physical and emotional safety.
• Supervise daily routines, meals, groups, and offsite programming as needed.
• Assist with admissions, room setup, and belongings orientation for new clients.
• Document client behaviors or incidents and report progress to clinical staff.
• Transport clients to appointments and cultural activities as assigned.
• Administer drug/alcohol screenings and medications per protocol and document results.
