Job summary

Metrocare Services is seeking a Recovery Support Peer Specialist in Dallas to guide individuals in recovery through one‑to‑one and group sessions. You will use lived experience to mentor clients, promote recovery and engage with community resources, all within a trauma-informed, person-centered framework.

Responsibilities include conducting sessions, documenting progress promptly, and collaborating with the care team to support family education and service coordination.

Qualifications

• GED or high school equivalent.
• 5 years of active involvement in personal recovery without relapse.
• Within 6 months of hire, begin certification for the Recovery Support Peer Specialist and start the 250 hours required for certification.
• Current State of Texas Driver License or, if out of state, be licensed there and obtain Texas license within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to clients using personal recovery experience.
• Deliver individual sessions and facilitate peer-led group discussions.
• Engage clients in treatment and document services within 24 hours.
• Participate in supervision and multidisciplinary team meetings, provide feedback on progress.
