Job summary

Metrocare Services is seeking a Recovery Support Peer Specialist to assist consumers in their recovery journey. The role relies on personal recovery experience to provide individual and group sessions using a person-centered, trauma-informed approach.

Responsibilities include facilitating peer discussions, documenting progress within 24 hours, and coordinating with the treatment team to connect clients with resources and supports in the community.

Qualifications

• GED or high school equivalence required.
• 5 years of active involvement in personal recovery without relapse or crisis.
• Within 6 months of hire, begin certification for the Recovery Support Peer Specialist and start the 250 hours required for certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide services to clients using personal recovery experience.
• Deliver individual sessions for clients in services.
• Facilitate peer-led group discussions around recovery and sobriety.
• Document services within 24 hours of sessions.
• Participate in supervision and team meetings with feedback on progress.
• Lead family education groups and connect clients with community supports.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
