Job summary

Safe Horizon’s Family Focused program seeks a Parent Coach to provide trauma-informed, client-centered support to families affected by intimate partner violence in the child welfare system.

Key duties include engaging families, supporting goal setting, navigating housing and public benefits, and co-facilitating trauma groups. Must have strong interpersonal skills and relevant experience; bilingual preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with related experience, or an Associate Degree with related experience.
• Bilingual Spanish/English fluency is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn and integrate a trauma-informed, client-centered approach with an anti-oppressive lens.
• Engage families in services and participate in home, office and school visits as needed.
• Support parents in goal setting and navigation of public systems, accompanying to appointments.
• Co-facilitate trauma intervention groups and prepare for Family Team Conferences.
• Develop practice skills aligned with Safe Horizon’s client-centered, trauma-informed approach.
• Attend trainings, participate in supervision, and maintain open communication with the team.
• Address vicarious trauma and contribute to team case reviews.
