Job summary

Safe Horizon in New York City seeks a dedicated team member to support child victims of sexual and severe physical abuse and impacted families. You will work within a CAC multidisciplinary team, participate in forensic interviews, provide trauma-informed on-site mental health services, and connect families with referrals and ongoing treatment.

The role emphasizes client-centered advocacy, case coordination, and data entry in the CAC NCATrak system.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work required (unless within 3–6 months of completing graduate requirements).
• Clinical licensure preferred.
• Expertise in Forensic Interviewing or willingness to acquire this skill.
• Excellent communication, crisis intervention and assessment skills.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment; bilingual Spanish highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn and integrate a trauma-informed, client-centered approach.
• Participate in forensic interviews, lead or observe, and coordinate services.
• Assess child and non-offending family members to determine trauma impact and service needs.
• Provide trauma-focused intervention and victim advocacy to child, siblings, and non-offending parent(s).
• Participate in case planning and review meetings to inform investigation and coordinate interventions.
• Enter accurate case data into the CAC NCATrak system from opening to closing of a case.
• Conduct psycho-educational workshops for non-offending parents.
• Participate in supervision and trainings.
