Safe Horizon’s Safe Way Forward program seeks a Trauma Counselor to provide trauma-informed, client-centered services to survivors of domestic violence and their families within the child welfare system. The role supports a hybrid schedule (2 days on site, 3 days remote) and involves collaboration with the SWF team and ACS to coordinate care for children and families affected by violence.

Qualifications

• Experience working with domestic violence survivors and families
• Ability to manage a mixed caseload including survivors, children, and those causing harm
• Proficiency with documenting in client-record systems

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-focused mental health treatment using evidence-based models
• Conduct trauma screenings and assessments for clients and families
• Collaborate with SWF team and ACS to coordinate services for children and families
• Engage in safety planning, crisis intervention, and risk management discussions
• Maintain timely documentation and participate in supervision and case reviews
• Deliver home visits and participate in family team conferences
