Job summary

The Crisis Center of Comal County in New Braunfels, TX is hiring a Mental Health Case Manager to support survivors of domestic violence, homelessness, and crises within the shelter program. You will provide crisis support, connect clients with behavioral health resources, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Ideal candidates have a relevant degree, strong communication, and experience in mental health services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, Behavioral Health, or a related field is required; Master’s degree preferred.
• QMHP-CS preferred.
• One to two years of experience in mental health services, case management, crisis intervention, or related settings preferred.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and community supports.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed emotional support, crisis intervention, de-escalation, grounding, and stabilization to clients.
• Assess immediate mental health needs and determine next steps, referrals, and resources.
• Help clients identify coping strategies, strengths, and supports for safety and stability.
• Develop and update safety plans based on individual circumstances.
• Facilitate connections to crisis, emergency, medical, behavioral health, or substance use services when needed.
• Help clients navigate available mental health services and community supports.
• Address barriers to accessing care, including transportation, appointments, and insurance.
