Job summary

The Crisis Center of Comal County in New Braunfels, TX is seeking a compassionate Case Aide to support shelter clients, respond to crisis calls, assist with intake, transportation, meals, and daily activities, and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment. You will work with Case Managers to help residents achieve daily goals, document case notes, and participate in staff trainings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in social work or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Answer crisis hotline, provide trauma-informed crisis intervention, safety planning, information, and referrals.
• Create a safe, welcoming space for individuals discussing trauma, domestic violence, sexual assault, homelessness, and other crises.
• Provide safety planning and basic family violence education to callers and shelter residents.
• Support emergency shelter admissions by coordinating transportation, assisting with intake, and helping create a smooth transition into shelter.
• Provide ongoing crisis intervention and practical support to individuals and families in shelter.
• Work with Case Managers to help clients identify and achieve daily and weekly goals.
• Provide safe transportation for clients using shelter vehicles (van, 14-passenger bus).
• Maintain documentation and vehicle cleanliness while transporting supplies and meals.
• Assist with meal preparation, serving, and cleanup; support daily shelter operations.
• Coordinate daily shelter activities, appointments, meetings, and other services.
• Maintain organized shelter common areas and supply spaces.
• Support a calm, respectful shelter environment by following policies and procedures.
• Assist clients with participation in house meetings, groups, and appointments.
• Maintain timely client documentation and required reports.
• Participate in staff meetings, case reviews, trainings, and quality care initiatives.
• Participate in Sexual Assault Crisis Response on-call rotation.
• Represent CCCC in the community and support outreach and events.
• Protect confidentiality and privacy of clients and agency information.
