Job summary

Arbour Hospital is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Associate to help maintain a safe and therapeutic unit environment in a busy psychiatric setting. You will work closely with UNMs, RNs, and other MHAs to ensure high-quality patient care and effective collaboration across teams.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed, age-appropriate care and the ability to respond calmly in crises while supporting diverse patient populations and groups. Excellent communication and professionalism are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• College student pursuing degree in behavioral health, psychology, or human services preferred.
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills required.
• Impeccable judgment and professionalism; ability to maintain composure in crises.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Provide routine patient care as required in a psychiatric environment.
• Document and communicate unusual or erratic changes in client behaviors.
• Assist with patient groups and activities.
• Work with culturally and generationally diverse populations to meet individual needs.
• Provide trauma informed and age-specific care.
• Maintain therapeutic boundaries and utilize crisis intervention techniques.
