Job summary

Arbour Hospital in Boston is seeking a Mental Health Associate to help maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu and collaborate closely with unit staff. You will support patients, document changes, and participate in care planning to promote recovery.

You will provide routine patient care in a psychiatric setting, assist with groups, and work with diverse populations using trauma-informed, age-appropriate approaches while maintaining professional boundaries.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
• College student pursuing degree in behavioral health, psychology, or human services preferred
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
• Impeccable Judgment & professionalism
• Ability to maintain composure in a crisis situation

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment
• Provide routine patient care as required in a psychiatric environment
• Document and communicate unusual or erratic changes in client behaviors
• Assist with patient groups and activities
• Work with culturally and generationally diverse populations to meet their individual needs
• Provide trauma informed and age-specific care
• Maintain therapeutic boundaries and utilize crisis intervention techniques
