Job summary

World Relief seeks a Case Manager to provide comprehensive support and ongoing community orientation to immigrant families in the Chicago area. You will help clients navigate detention services, enroll children in school, access medical care, apply for public benefits, and connect with external resources.

This is a limited-term position funded through a grant agreement until 6/30/2027 and contingent upon funding extension.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field (or equivalent combination of education and/or direct service experience)
• Understanding of immigrant experience and navigation of local social service systems
• Proficiency or fluency in a second language spoken by local client communities highly preferred
• Knowledge of trauma-informed approaches and strengths-based practices

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments with immigrant families, asylum seekers, parolees, and visa holders to identify needs and connect them with resources
• Assist families in accessing and understanding public benefits programs (Medicaid, All Kids, VTTC, WIC)
• Orient participants to healthcare systems and arrange transportation and physician communication
• Educate families on navigating their surroundings and researching community resources (food pantries, housing, ESL, healthcare, legal services)
• Maintain confidential client files and case notes in digital and physical formats
• Participate in team meetings, trainings, and supervision with trauma-informed practices and confidentiality
