Job summary

Iris Family Support Center in Elkhart, IN seeks a Family Engagement Specialist to deliver home-, school-, and community-based services that promote family stabilization and child safety. You will manage intakes, assessments, and case management for families referred by DCS and Juvenile Probation, using trauma-informed practices.

The role requires frequent in-home visits, collaboration with courts and service partners, documentation, court testimony when needed, and travel across the region.

Qualifications

• One year of full-time experience in home management, home maintenance, and/or child-care.
• Experience working with families/parents/children in a human service organization preferred.
• Life or job experience caring for children.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a caseload to meet productivity requirements.
• Provide services including crisis intervention, intake/family assessment, safety planning, treatment planning.
• Complete certification of Motivational Interviewing within 90 days.
• Complete training for Nurturing Parenting, Trauma Focused CBT and 24/7 Dads within 12 months.
• Travel up to 30% within the region for client visits.
• Collaborate with courts, DCS, Probation, foster parents, GALs and CASA volunteers.
• Document assessments, progress notes, treatment plans and monthly reports.
