Job summary

The Children's Guild DC (TCG DC) seeks an Elementary School Teacher to deliver high-quality, standards-aligned instruction for Kindergarten through 5th grade in a diverse, therapeutic school setting. You will design individualized, engaging plans addressing academic, social-emotional, and developmental needs, including students with IEPs and 504 plans.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure consistent, caring, high-expectations support for every student while maintaining

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in Elementary Education or related field.
Valid DC teaching license (K–6) or eligibility to obtain.
Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in urban, inclusive, or diverse school setting.
Knowledge of DC Common Core Standards and evidence-based instructional practices.
Familiarity with IEP/504/IDEA requirements and related supports.
Strong classroom management, differentiation, and student engagement.

Responsibilities

Design and deliver standards-aligned instruction across K–5.
Develop differentiated, engaging lesson plans for diverse learners.
Use trauma-informed, brain-based instructional strategies to promote achievement.
Incorporate project-based learning and technology into daily instruction.
Assess and monitor student progress to inform instruction.
Document and maintain policies for classroom instruction and programming.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and families on IEP/504 plans.
