Job summary

Good Shepherd Shelter in Los Angeles seeks a full-time Elementary School Instructor to teach K-5 with a trauma-informed focus. You will design instructional services, assist with intake, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support children and their families.

The role requires an Associate’s Degree (Bachelor’s preferred), 24–36 Child Development units, and at least one year of classroom experience, plus a valid driver’s license and trauma-informed experience.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor Degree preferred.
• 24-36 Child Development units required.
• At least one year of classroom experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Experience in a trauma-informed environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and teach lessons for five to eight children across K-5 with a trauma-informed focus.
• Plan/implement activities for whole group including sports, crafts and art.
• Coordinate with interdepartmental team to ensure service quality.
• Attend weekly meetings and monthly in-service trainings.
• Supervise volunteer classroom aides and monitor attendance.
