Job summary

Rose Brooks Center in Kansas City, MO is seeking a full-time Therapist to provide individual assessments, therapy and advocacy for Shelter, Housing and community clients. The role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and adherence to trauma-informed care principles.

The Therapist will report to the Director of Clinical Services and participate in required trainings, with on-site duties and a flexible schedule totaling about 40 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Therapy/counseling experience, preferably in a domestic violence agency or residential setting.
• Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, MFT, or social work.
• Licensed or license-eligible (LCSW, LMFT, LPC).
• Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and databases.
• Valid driver’s license and proof of liability insurance.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individual assessments, individual and group therapy, advocacy and support planning services for Shelter or Housing clients and community clients.
• Provide consultation, education and information to other professionals on domestic violence, trauma and mental health.
• Report to Director of Clinical Services and participate in required trainings.
• Attend scheduled staff, team and supervision meetings and contribute to trauma-informed care.
• Maintain agency policies and RBC competencies in all activities.
