Job summary

The Salvation Army is hiring a NDNH Community Engagement Specialist for the Philadelphia Social Service Ministries - New Day. This position offers Full Time, Part Time and On Call shifts, with schedules including 7am-3pm or 3pm-11pm weekdays and 3pm-11pm on weekends.

The role focuses on creating a safe, welcoming environment for New Home residents and coordinating with staff. Duties include house checks, answering calls, greeting visitors, documenting incidents, and collaborating in team

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Prior residential, social service, or customer service experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Must provide PA Act 153 training within 30 days of employment.
• Must meet PA Child Abuse History Clearance and related state/federal clearances.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for residents and staff.
• Enforce house rules, fire safety, room conditions, and curfew restrictions.
• Answer phones, greet visitors, and assist new residents.
• Conduct hourly house checks and document incidents.
• Maintain logs and participate in biweekly team meetings.
