Job summary

FosterAdoptConnect in Independence, MO is seeking a Behavioral Interventionist to work one-on-one with children facing mental and behavioral health challenges. You will support daily living skills, emotional regulation, and healthy relationships through trauma-informed activities and individualized plans.

You’ll receive ongoing training, supervision, and development, with shifts afternoons, evenings, and weekends; expect to work 3–5 times weekly, engaging children in activities aligned with

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience working with elevated behavioral needs preferred.
• Must be willing to perform safety holds on clients at immediate risk, following training.
• Must be able to navigate stairs, climb, twist, bend, and lift up to 100 pounds.
• Must have smartphone and laptop for work purposes.
• Willing to commute up to 30 miles to a client’s home.
• Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Maintain First Aid/CPR and CPI Certifications

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with children to support emotional regulation.
• Follow individualized behavioral plans with ongoing training and supervision.
• Provide engaging activities 3–5 times per week in afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
• Help develop healthy relationships and communication skills.
• Adhere to family routines and modeling supportive behavioral strategies.
