Job summary

UCLA Health in West Hills seeks Emergency Trauma Techs to deliver direct patient care in trauma and emergency settings. You will support nurses, transport patients, assist with ADLs, and help prepare equipment for procedures.

Required BLS/ACLS, CPR, EKG, and telemetry familiarity; ability to lift and move patients; prior ED Tech or EMT experience preferred. 12-hour shifts; indefinite employment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of suturing and suture removal, dressing application, and splinting.
• BLS from AHA OR ACA required.
• CPR and EKGs.
• Telemetry monitoring.
• Preparing wounds for treatment, set up and assisting with procedures such as incision and drainage of infected areas.
• Ability to assist nursing staff with routine patient care.
• Ability to function as a team member and provide professional staff support to physicians and nurses.
• Ability to interact effectively with patients.
• Ability to lift, push, pull.
• Prior ED Tech or EMT experience highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in trauma/emergency situations.
• Assist in set up of equipment for procedures and maintain infection control.
• Transport patients and assist with ADL.
• Perform EKGs and finger stick blood glucose checks.
• Support orthopedic injuries assessment and splint placement.
